Live in a flat, rent your home, or have a shaded terrace? Reserve a share of a Y2 Solar rooftop project in your DISCOM area. Every unit it generates is credited on your electricity bill, at your own tariff, for 10 years. With a written generation guarantee.
Chhat nahi? Koi baat nahi. Apna solar share book karo, bill ghatao.
Delhi's regulator now allows any consumer to own a share of a solar plant elsewhere in the same DISCOM area and receive its generation as credits on their own bill. Y2 Solar builds the plant on a host rooftop, you buy the capacity, and we file the paperwork.
We convert your monthly bill into units, then into the capacity that would offset it, without oversizing.
Only projects in your DISCOM area are shown, because credits can only flow within one DISCOM. Reserve capacity in panel multiples.
E-sign the 10-year lease, pay online. We build the plant, file your virtual net metering and subsidy applications with the DISCOM.
Generation is metered at the plant and split to your bill every cycle. If your share generates less than 1,200 units per kW in a year, we pay the shortfall.
Rooftop solar is a good product if you own a clear roof and plan to stay put. Y2 Community Solar is for everyone else, and it carries a few protections that a rooftop system cannot.
| Rooftop solar | Y2 Community Solar | |
|---|---|---|
| Roof needed | Your own, unshaded, structurally sound | None. The plant sits on a host roof in your DISCOM area |
| Cleaning & maintenance | Yours: cleaning every fortnight, inverter service, insurance | Y2 does all of it for the full 10 years, covered by the monthly fee |
| Generation guarantee | None. A bad year is your loss | 1,200 units per kW per year, shortfall paid at ₹6 a unit |
| If you move house | The system stays on the old roof | Your share moves with you to any connection in the same DISCOM |
| If you want out | Second-hand panels have little resale value | Y2 buys back at 10% a year straight-line depreciation on what you paid |
| PM Surya Ghar subsidy | Yes, on DCR modules | Yes, on subsidy projects with DCR modules |
| Bill credits | Net metering at your tariff | Virtual net metering at your tariff, every billing cycle |
| After the term | Panels are yours for 25 years | Panels stay with Y2 after 10 years; first right to renew |
Uses the current DERC slabs, your DISCOM's fuel surcharge, Delhi's free-units subsidy, the PM Surya Ghar subsidy, the year-end payment for surplus units and our generation guarantee. Change anything; the numbers update live.

Yes: 0 to 200 units free, 201 to 400 at ₹800 off. No: full tariff on every unit.
Recommended: 3 kW, the smallest size that takes your billed units under 200 so they fall in the free slab. At 3 kW you are billed for about 192 units. Final size rounds to whole panels.

Floor for 3 kW at 98% grid availability. Expected generation is 4,200 units, so no shortfall is due. If a year comes in under the floor, Y2 pays the gap at ₹6/unit.
10% a year straight-line depreciation on the ₹72,000 you paid net of subsidy. Subsidised shares become eligible for buy-back once the PM Surya Ghar lock-in has passed. You can also transfer your share to another consumer in the same DISCOM.
Assumes 1400 units/kW/year expected in Delhi with 0.5% annual degradation; guarantee of 1,200 units/kW/year × 98% grid availability, shortfall paid at ₹6/unit at year end; surplus units paid at ₹5/unit at year end; DERC slabs and fixed charges, BRPL PPAC 35.83%, 8% surcharge, 7% pension surcharge, 5% electricity tax; Delhi free-units subsidy applied on net units; tariff rising 3% a year; fee ₹200/kW/month rising 5% a year; subsidy received in month 3; 10-year term. Estimates only, not an offer.
Credits can only be assigned within one DISCOM's area, so start by choosing yours. We are launching in BSES Rajdhani (BRPL) first; other DISCOMs open after the pilot. Capacity is sold in whole panels and a project closes when its last panel is booked.
We are launching in BRPL first and will open BYPL projects after completing the pilot. Leave your details on the contact page and we will tell you the day the first BYPL project opens.
We are launching in BRPL first and will open TPDDL projects after completing the pilot. Leave your details on the contact page and we will tell you the day the first TPDDL project opens.
You never pay for something that does not exist yet. The booking amount holds your panels; the balance follows the plant's own milestones.
The calculator carries your bill, DISCOM and capacity into the booking. Nothing to re-enter.
Mobile number or email. No password, no form to fill before you see your booking summary.
Just your name as on the electricity bill. We collect your CA number later, when you e-sign the lease, so nothing slows the booking.
UPI, card, net banking or EMI through Razorpay. The moment the payment clears, your capacity is locked in the register.
Booking confirmation and payment receipt arrive by email and WhatsApp within a minute, with your booking ID and the lease for e-sign.
Milestone photos on WhatsApp: structure up, panels on, inverter in. The 80% instalment request comes with the installation report and a 7-day payment window.
Plant energised, VNM approved. You pay the last 10% and get your dashboard login: live generation, credits and savings, for your share only.
From the next bill onward. Monthly WhatsApp statement with units credited and rupees saved.
No. You are buying solar capacity for your own consumption. The benefit is a lower electricity bill, not a cash payout. We never quote a return; the calculator shows bill savings against what you pay.
The plant has its own DISCOM meter. Each billing cycle, the DISCOM allocates its generation to every participating consumer in the agreed proportion under DERC's virtual net metering guidelines, and it appears as a credit line on your bill.
Each kW of your share is guaranteed to generate 1,200 units a year, adjusted for grid availability: if the grid was available 90% of the time, the target is 90% of 1,200. Any shortfall against that target is paid to you at ₹6 per unit after the year closes.
Surplus units are carried in your account through the year and paid out by the DISCOM at year end at around ₹5 per unit. That is below your tariff, so we size your share to your usage rather than above it.
If your new connection is in the same DISCOM area, we re-map your share to the new meter. If not, you can transfer it to another consumer in that DISCOM, or sell it back to Y2 at 10% a year straight-line depreciation on the amount you paid net of subsidy.
Yes. Y2 buys back at the amount you paid, net of any subsidy you received, less 10% for every completed year. Subsidised shares become eligible once the PM Surya Ghar lock-in period has passed; non-subsidy shares can be sold back any time after commissioning.
The lease ends and the panels stay with Y2 Solar. Your ₹200/kW monthly fee also ends. You will get first right to renew on the terms available then.
On subsidy projects with DCR modules, yes, as a domestic consumer: ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW, ₹78,000 for 3 kW or more, prorated in between. The Delhi state top-up for community solar is still being confirmed with the department; the calculator lets you see both cases.
If Y2 Solar does not commission the plant within 120 days, your booking amount is refunded in full. The booking amount is non-refundable only if you change your mind.
Y2 Solar, for the full 10 years. Cleaning, inverter service, insurance and monitoring are included in the monthly fee.
